PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Improvement and rehabilitation of 10 km highway of Gillooly’s Interchange to Rietfontein Interchange (R21), National Route 12 Section 19.
Widening of 4 sections of road to provide extra lanes and construction of a 200 meters long incrementally launched (curved) bridge.
The bridge comprises seven incrementally launched spans of twenty concrete segments with various lengths from 9 to 13 meters and is launched on six piers up to 19 meters high.
The bridge at Gillooly’s intersection was opened to motorist on June 01, 2010.
